river rock: For the Great Outdoors
River Rock has one simple aim: To welcome more people into Single Malt.
Taking inspiration from Scotland’s great outdoors, we have created an award-winning, truly individual Single Malt; A more welcoming dram with sustainability at its heart; River Rock has made a positive contribution from day one.
Wonky Glass - 100% Plastic Free - 1% for the Planet member.
WE STARTED WITH TASTE
We spent three years searching for the perfect whisky. A Single Malt which is sweeter, more welcoming with no aggressive aromas or 'burn'
Aged in American Bourbon casks for an easy going sweetness with a spicy oak finish, River Rock was awarded a silver at the Scotch Whisky Masters 2021
Perfect served neat, over ice or with a mixer
CRAFTING NATURE'S BEAUTY
The unique River Rock bottle perfectly captures the irregular patterns found in nature. Inspired by the powerful, yet effortless flow of a river, carving unique smooth patterns into solid rock, designed to feel great in your hand.
Nature’s wonkiness couldn’t be captured using computer aided design. Instead we used clay modelling to hand craft the asymmetrical smooth contours, a technique not used by our bottle maker for over 30 years.
Each bottle of River Rock is a unique colour: We choose to use the unloved ‘wonky’ glass that is created when glass makers change colour, and which normally goes to waste. We celebrate its inconsistency, embrace its individuality and help save materials and energy.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
From the very beginning we have made a positive contribution to people and the planet through our use of sustainable materials, responsible manufacturing and simple recycling/re-use.
As well as using ‘wonky’ glass, River Rock is 100% plastic free and 100% recyclable, using no fancy foils or inks.
A proud member of 1% for the Planet, we work with the John Muir Trust to ensure that for every bottle of River Rock sold, we plant a native tree in Scotland (on Schiehallion for those who want to know the specifics!).

Finish is long and spicy, with good level of green apples….nice oak, nutmeg. Very well balanced"
